The Womb Tent is a relax-station to be set outside universities and offices. Contemporary public institutions, and corporate constructions at large, share the open-space feature with the newly built Art Academies. I wanted to build an aesthetic escape for it. The Womb Tent is a refuge from constant stimuli and the need to perform while at work. The digital rendering is the idea, its execution in the real world can take place on demand, once the structure specified in the receipt has been adopted.Time, Materials and Workforce are the focal points in my research for an ethical artistic practice, which sets the artist’s daydreams as a driving force for new collective landscapes of production.

The video digitally presents the idea as I imagined it, it functions as a proposal for its physical execution. I did not want to physically create it or impose this piece if there was not a space that wanted it already.A digital receipt in the video informs you on the costs that just the digital version encountered. At the bottom of it, I did an approximation of the costs needed for the physical execution in real life.I started working on this project a few years ago, however I could not get out of an eco-guilt mindset while prototyping bigger pieces in my practice.A production that is 100% ethical is impossible to imagine under the current economic circumstances. But, to froze up one’s production does not provide anyone with anything. An ideal world needs to be translated in reality, dealing with all the paradoxes one might encounter. The Womb Tent wishes to start as an installation for an exhibition setting, it would then continue its trajectory as a relax-station for the working environments mentioned above.
