Repetitive actions soothe me. Domestic spaces do not. As I keep on embroidering, I daydream of future escapades and stay present with myself.

In a span of two years I have moved across four countries, in rather stressful circumstances. Loose canvases are my default hand luggage, but I had to separate from this one in London last year, where it was first exposed as a work in progress for Central Saint Martins' Open Studio event. I left it there as the academy closed due to the pandemic and I had to rush my departure to get back to Italy. I moved back to the Netherlands and the Academy sent it over here. With the physical restrictions and curfews, I tried to abstract from the heavy domestic walls.
